High Country Accommodation, next to Lake Eildon, close to Mt Buller

Affordable, secluded, family-friendly and couples accommodation in the Howqua Valley. Cottages and chalets backing onto the Great Dividing Range, next to Lake Eildon. In addition to the accommodation units there is a boutique function centre for private functions and small wedding parties.

The Black Sparrow offers accommodation options for couples, families, and groups. Four well-appointed two bedroom cottages nestled in a bush setting of majestic gums and native trees. The cottages are in close proximity to the recreation areas allowing families and children easy access to the various activities the property has to offer. Three fully self contained one bedroom chalets, designed as romantic retreats for couples, situated higher on the property, separate from the cottage accommodation to provide seclusion, but not too far from the activities available on site. Our outdoor facilities include a tennis court with basketball rings, outdoor pool, giant garden chess, campfire, and a spring free trampoline.

The Black Sparrow is a leisurely 2.5 hour drive from Melbourne and offers stunning views of Lake Eildon with close proximity to the townships of Mansfield and Jamieson. It's a great accommodation location for people who wish to visit or experience adventure in the area, any time of the year.

In the warmer months guests interested in water sport activities  can enjoy staying at a unique property while fishing, water skiing or boating on Lake Eildon. The Black Sparrow is situated 30 minutes from the base of the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling, where you can have affordable, quality off-mountain accommodation whether you're skiing in winter, or hiking, biking, or four wheel driving the trails in summer.

Each cabin is beautifully presented with a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, spacious living, and private outdoor deck with BBQ. With a limited number of cabins, no camping or caravans, and 50 acres to spread out on, there is plenty of room for everyone.
